Dead Weeds and New Life from Stump

Dead Weed and New life from Tree StumpThe main path at Larry Moore Park in Paso Robles is lined with dead weeds and dead trees at this time of year. Some of the dead trees have been there for years, along with more than one generation of dead poison hemlock and milk thistles. The weeds reseed every year. The stump of the tree that broke apart a couple of winters ago refuses to give up and die. You can see that it wants to put forth new shoots and restore itself. If you would like a closer look, just click the photo to enlarge it.

  1. This is a beautiful photo, many times over not just for its amazing quality but because of the description you gave it. Nature is beautiful at all stages of it's life.

  2. I agree that nature is beautiful in all its stages. I was hoping others might see it even in these dead weeds. I'm glad God gave you the eyes to see it. Thank you for your comment.

  3. That would be cool if the tree does manage to put forth new life next spring. Nature is far more resilient than are human structures. If humans went away, it wouldn't take long for nature to reclaim almost everything humans placed here.

    1. I agree. I'm amazed at the places where plants will grow if no one stops them.
