Wordless Wednesday: Those Deer!
These deer were seen together near Charolais Road in Paso Robles jumping fences in and out of private property.

X-rays Aren't As Bad As They Used to Be
In the past two years I've had a lot of X-rays. I won't even count the MRI's. My feet have been x-rayed. My back has been X-rayed. Most of my recurring X-rays, though, have been done in the dentist's office. I used to really dread those X-Rays. As you may remember, you had to hold little pieces of film attached to cardboard in your mouth and they used to cut into the tender surrounding tissues. When I went to the dentist last week, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that dentals X-rays aren't as bad as they used to be.
Computers have made a real difference in how X-rays are done now. They no longer use that horrid cardboard to take film pictures. Now the X-rays are digital. I don't understand the new technology, but I do appreciate it. It's nice not to have to dread those dental X-rays anymore.

The Moon is Waxing Gibbous
The moon is huge as I write this the evening of October 26, watching it rise. It's not quite as full as it will be tomorrow, but it is 50% illuminated, which is why it's called the Waxing Gibbous moon. It was quite visible in the late afternoon as I was driving east before the sun was gone. I drove up where I could shoot this from a hilltop. To see the moon features, please click to enlarge the photo.By the time you read this on October 27, you can look forward to seeing a full moon. I missed the larger harvest super blood moon last month because the clouds made it invisible. The sunset that night, though, was spectacular. Burning the Candle at Both Ends Burns Me Out
![]() |
| Enjoying Time with Friends Around a Fire |
I don't want to get too stressed and burn out trying to keep my current blogging schedule while I have these extra real life commitments, I have decided to take a mini-blogging break. That will mean for an indefinite time period I will actually treat this blog the way I intended when I started it. I will keep my commitment to the City Daily Photo Blog international network by posting one photo a day I have taken in my local area with some words to describe it. I will observe theme day. But I will not be writing long posts until I have more time.
This will enable me to schedule ahead for days I'm not sure I'll be able to post. I appreciate your understanding during this time, and hope you will still stop by to see the daily photo. In the meantime, enjoy this poster available at Zazzle. Here's the quote you see on it.
My candle burns at both ends
It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends--
It gives a lovely light.
