Laguna Lake is Full Again

Laguna Lake is Full Again

The last time I visited Laguna Lake in San Luis Obispo it was during the worst part of the drought and the lake was dry. When we went to a medical appointment in that city last week, we had a few extra minutes and I wanted to take a quick walk  to see what difference the recent rains had made. They had made a lot of difference. Laguna Lake is full again. Water birds are returning.

Just to show you the difference less than a year and lots of rain can make, I will show you this contrast between the worst of the drought in 2015 and after this spring's rains. The top photo in the image below was of the dry boat ramp going into the lake. I was standing in a different place when I took a picture of the same ramp this year in April, 2016. Now the grasses and weeds from the dry lake bed are covered with water once again.

I love seeing the lake look like its lovely self again. Here are a couple more photos that show how beautiful it is in spring.
