Shadow of a Coyote Brush Plant

I photographed this small coyote brush weed after pulling it to document its root size. Then I noticed the shadow of the plant.

Shadows are Long in Late Afternoon Sun

My shadow was so long I had to document it. The rain was gone. The sun was out. I and my camera were ready to take a photo walk.

Shadows and Highlight: Shadows of Me and a Dying Mullein

Theme Day: Shadows and Highlight

This mullein plant, which is at the end of its season and reseeding in January, casts a shadow in the late afternoon sun which looks almost like the head of a hare. At least the mullein looks like a hare to me. Now that I take a closer look at the shadow, it might be a wounded ant. What do you think the shadow looks like?

Below is my own shadow, under the shadow of a tree which is next to my driveway. All the shadows fall  onto the garage door.

My Camera-Shy Selfie

On the first day of every month, the City Daily Photo Blog site has a theme day, and all associated  bloggers join in. The theme this month is to post a camera-shy selfie. This is the one I have chosen. I had many shadow photos I could have posted, but I believe hiding behind my camera is sufficient disguise. Besides, I've always liked this picture, even though it is the result of an accident.

This photo was taken long ago as I left a medical building. Another patient had left her dogs in the car, and I wanted a picture of that black lab you see in the window. As you can see, I got the picture. So intent was I on the dog, that I didn't see until I got home that I had also inadvertently gotten into the picture myself.
